Be sure to bring proof of residency, such as a driver's license (preferred), a tax bill, a utility bill, or a transfer station sticker.
There is NO CHARGE for this service.
While at the drop-off site, please stay in your vehicle at all times!
Watch for signs. They will be posted at intersections and entrances.
Take I-84 west to Exit 17 (Route 64) in Waterbury. Take Route 64 through Middlebury. Turn right onto Route 6 in Woodbury. Follow directions below for Route 6 Northbound.
Follow Route 6 north through Woodbury center. Turn right onto Middle Road Turnpike. Turn left onto Minortown Road. High School is on the left side of the road.
Follow Route 6 south into Woodbury. Turn left onto Middle Road Turnpike. Turn left onto Minortown Road. High School is on the left.
Any waste produced in the home that is poisonous, flammable, explosive, reactive, or corrosive is considered a household hazardous or chemical waste (note: explosives are not accepted at this HHW collection). If not properly disposed, these wastes can be harmful to human health and the environment. Do not pour these wastes down the drain, dump "out back," or throw in the trash.

Proper disposal of Latex Paint:
Cans containing 1/2" or less: Open lid and air dry
Cans with paint in excess of 1/2": Add kitty litter or speedy dry to paint to accelerate drying
Dispose of dried paint can in trash
Tips for identifying Latex and Oil-based paints:
Latex is water-based
Latex cleanup uses soap-and-water
Oil-based paints are commonly referred to as "alkyd"
NO Latex Paint. (It is not considered hazardous. Simply remove the lid and let paint dry, then throw it in the trash.)
NO Car Batteries. (Check with your town recycling center.)
NO Motor Oil. (Same as batteries)
NO Explosives.
NO Medical or Biological Waste.

Upon entering the High School upper parking lot, a volunteer will request your identification and ask you to open the trunk of your vehicle in order to identify the type of waste you have.
You will be given a questionnaire requesting your name and address before being directed to the collection area.
The collection begins at 8:00 AM sharp and moves quickly. Being first in line at 7:30 AM only ensures you will wait an additional 30 minutes.
